Gen 12:

Abram and Sarai

12 God told Abram: “Leave your country, your family, and your father’s home for a land that I will show you.

2-3 

I’ll make you a great nation

        and bless you.

    I’ll make you famous;

        you’ll be a blessing.

    I’ll bless those who bless you;

        those who curse you I’ll curse.

    All the families of the Earth

        will be blessed through you.”

4-6 So Abram left just as God said, and Lot left with him. Abram was seventy-five years old when he left Haran. Abram took his wife Sarai and his nephew Lot with him, along with all the possessions and people they had gotten in Haran, and set out for the land of Canaan and arrived safe and sound.

Abram passed through the country as far as Shechem and the Oak of Moreh. At that time the Canaanites occupied the land.

7 God appeared to Abram and said, “I will give this land to your children.” Abram built an altar at the place God had appeared to him.

8 He moved on from there to the hill country east of Bethel and pitched his tent between Bethel to the west and Ai to the east. He built an altar there and prayed to God.

 

தேவன் ஆபிராமை அழைக்கிறார்

12 கர்த்தர் ஆபிராமிடம்,

“நீ உனது

ஜனங்களையும், நாட்டையும்,

    தந்தையின் குடும்பத்தையும்விட்டு வெளியேறி நான் காட்டும் நாட்டுக்குப் போ.

2 

நான் உன் மூலமாக ஒரு பெரிய தேசத்தை உருவாக்குவேன்.

    நான் உன்னை ஆசீர்வதிப்பேன்.

உனது பெயரைப் புகழ்பெறச் செய்வேன்.

    ஜனங்கள் மற்றவர்களை ஆசீர்வதிக்க உன் பெயரைப் பயன்படுத்துவர்.

3 

உன்னை ஆசீர்வதிக்கிற ஜனங்களை நான் ஆசீர்வதிப்பேன்.

    உன்னை சபிப்பவர்களை நான் சபிப்பேன்.

நான் உன் மூலம் பூமியிலுள்ள

    அனைத்து ஜனங்களையும் ஆசீர்வதிப்பேன்” என்றார்.

ஆபிராம் கானானுக்குப் போகிறான்

4 எனவே, ஆபிராம் கர்த்தருக்குக் கீழ்ப்படிந்து ஆரானை விட்டுப் போனான். லோத்து அவனோடு சென்றான். அப்போது ஆபிராமுக்கு 75 வயது. 5 ஆபிராம் ஆரானை விட்டு போகும்போது தன் மனைவி சாராயையும், தன் சகோதரனுடைய மகனான லோத்தையும், எல்லா அடிமைகளையும், ஆரானில் அவனுக்குச் சொந்தமான அனைத்தையும் எடுத்துக்கொண்டு போனான். அவர்கள் ஆரானை விட்டுக் கானானை நோக்கிப் பயணம் செய்தனர். 6 ஆபிராம் கானான் தேசத்தின் வழியாகப் பயணம் செய்து சீகேம் நகரம் வழியே மோரேயில் இருக்கும் பெரிய மரங்கள் உள்ள இடத்திற்கு வந்தான். அக்காலத்தில் அங்கு கானானியர் வாழ்ந்தனர்.

7 கர்த்தர் ஆபிராமுக்குக் காட்சியளித்து, “நான் உன் சந்ததிக்கு இத்தேசத்தைக் கொடுப்பேன்” என்றார்.

கர்த்தர் காட்சியளித்த இடத்தில் ஆபிராம் கர்த்தரைத் தொழுகைசெய்ய ஒரு பலிபீடத்தைக் கட்டினான். 8 பின் ஆபிராம் அந்த இடத்தை விட்டு பெத்தேலுக்குக் கிழக்கே இருக்கும் மலைக்குப் போனான். அங்கு அவன் கூடாரம் போட்டான். பெத்தேல் நகரம் மேற்காக இருந்தது. ஆயீ நகரம் அதற்குக் கிழக்கே இருந்தது. அங்கு ஒரு பலிபீடத்தை கர்த்தருக்கு அமைத்து கர்த்தரைத் தொழுதுகொண்டான்.

 

Judges 6:11-12 One day the angel of God came and sat down under the oak in Ophrah that belonged to Joash the Abiezrite, whose son Gideon was threshing wheat in the winepress, out of sight of the Midianites. The angel of God appeared to him and said, “God is with you, O mighty warrior!”

13 Gideon replied, “With me, my master? If God is with us, why has all this happened to us? Where are all the miracle-wonders our parents and grandparents told us about, telling us, ‘Didn’t God deliver us from Egypt?’ The fact is, God has nothing to do with us—he has turned us over to Midian.”

14 But God faced him directly: “Go in this strength that is yours. Save Israel from Midian. Haven’t I just sent you?”

15 Gideon said to him, “Me, my master? How and with what could I ever save Israel? Look at me. My clan’s the weakest in Manasseh and I’m the runt of the litter.”

16 God said to him, “I’ll be with you. Believe me, you’ll defeat Midian as one man.”

17-18 Gideon said, “If you’re serious about this, do me a favor: Give me a sign to back up what you’re telling me. Don’t leave until I come back and bring you my gift.”

He said, “I’ll wait till you get back.”

19 Gideon went and prepared a young goat and a huge amount of unraised bread (he used over half a bushel of flour!). He put the meat in a basket and the broth in a pot and took them back under the shade of the oak tree for a sacred meal.

20 The angel of God said to him, “Take the meat and unraised bread, place them on that rock, and pour the broth on them.” Gideon did it.

21-22 The angel of God stretched out the tip of the stick he was holding and touched the meat and the bread. Fire broke out of the rock and burned up the meat and bread while the angel of God slipped away out of sight. And Gideon knew it was the angel of God!

Gideon said, “Oh no! Master, God! I have seen the angel of God face-to-face!”

23 But God reassured him, “Easy now. Don’t panic. You won’t die.”

24 Then Gideon built an altar there to God and named it “God’s Peace.” It’s still called that at Ophrah of Abiezer.

 

Judges 6:கிதியோனை கர்த்தருடைய தூதன் சந்தித்தல்

11 அப்போது கர்த்தருடைய தூதன் கிதியோன் என்னும் பெயருள்ளவனிடம் வந்தான். ஓப்ரா என்னுமிடத்தில் ஒரு கர்வாலி மரத்தின் கீழே கர்த்தருடைய தூதன் வந்து உட்கார்ந்தான். அந்த கர்வாலி மரம் யோவாஸ் என்பவனுக்குச் சொந்தமாயிருந்தது. யோவாஸ் அபியேசேரின் குடும்பத்தைச் சேர்ந்தவன். யோவாஸ் என்பவன் கிதியோனின் தந்தை. திராட்சை ஆலையில் கிதியோன் கோதுமையை அடித்துக்கொண்டிருந்தான். கர்த்தருடைய தூதன், கிதியோனுக்கருகே உட்கார்ந்தான். மீதியானியர் கோதுமையைப் பார்த்துவிடக் கூடாதென்று கிதியோன் மறைத்துவைக்க முயன்றான். 12 கர்த்தருடைய தூதன் கிதியோனுக்குக் காட்சி தந்து, அவனிடம், “பெரும் வீரனே! கர்த்தர் உன்னோடிருக்கிறார்!” என்றான்.

13 அப்போது கிதியோன், “கர்த்தர் எங்களோடிருந்தால் எங்களுக்கு ஏன் இத்தனைத் துன்பங்கள் நேருகின்றன? எங்கள் முற்பிதாக்களுக்கு அவர் அற்புதமானக் காரியங்களைச் செய்தார் என்று நாங்கள் கேள்விப்பட்டோம். கர்த்தர், தங்களை எகிப்திலிருந்து அழைத்து வந்ததாக எங்கள் முற்பிதாக்கள் கூறினார்கள். ஆனால் கர்த்தர் எங்களை விட்டுப் பிரிந்துவிட்டார். மீதியானியர் எங்களைத் தோற்கடிப்பதற்கு கர்த்தர் அனுமதித்தார்” என்றான்.

14 கர்த்தர் கிதியோனைப் பார்த்து, “உனது வல்லமையைப் பயன்படுத்து, மீதியானியரிடமிருந்து இஸ்ரவேலரைக் காப்பாற்று. அவர்களைக் காப்பாற்ற நான் உன்னை அனுப்புகிறேன்!” என்றார்.

15 ஆனால் கிதியோன் அவருக்குப் பதிலாக, “என்னை மன்னித்துவிடுங்கள் ஐயா, நான் எவ்வாறு இஸ்ரவேலரை காப்பாற்றுவேன். மனாசே கோத்திரத்தில் எங்கள் குடும்பமே மிகவும் எளியது. எங்கள் குடும்பத்தில் நான் இளையவன்” என்றான்.

16 கர்த்தர் கிதியோனிடம், “நான் உன்னோடிருக்கிறேன்! எனவே மீதியானியரை நீ தோற்கடிக்க முடியும்! ஒரே மனிதனை எதிர்த்துப் போரிடுவது போலவே உனக்குத் தோன்றும்” என்றார்.

17 கிதியோன் கர்த்தரிடம், “உமக்கு என் மேல் கருணை இருந்தால் என்னிடம் பேசுகிறவர் நீர்தான் என்பதற்கு ஏதேனும் சான்று காட்டும். 18 இங்கேயே தயவுசெய்து காத்திரும். நான் திரும்பி வரும்வரை எங்கும் போகாதிரும். நான் எனது காணிக்கையைக் கொண்டுவந்து உம்முன் வைக்க அனுமதியும்” என்றான்.

கர்த்தர், “நீ வரும்வரைக் காத்திருப்பேன்” என்றார்.

19 கிதியோன் உள்ளே சென்று, ஒரு வெள்ளாட்டுக்குட்டியை சமைத்தான். 20 பவுண்டு மாவை எடுத்துப் புளிப்பின்றி அப்பம் செய்தான். இறைச்சியை ஒரு கூடையிலும், அது வேகப் பயன்படுத்திய தண்ணீரை ஒரு பானையிலும் எடுத்துக் கொண்டான். இறைச்சியையும், இறைச்சியை வேகவைத்த தண்ணீரையும், புளிப்பற்ற அப்பத்தையும் கிதியோன் கொண்டு வந்தான். கர்வாலி மரத்தின் கீழே அமர்ந்திருந்த கர்த்தருக்கு அந்த உணவைக் கிதியோன் கொடுத்தான்.

20 தேவனுடைய தூதன் கிதியோனை நோக்கி, “இறைச்சியையும், புளிப்பற்ற அப்பத்தையும் அங்கேயிருக்கும் பாறையில் வைத்து அதன் மீது தண்ணீரை ஊற்று” என்றார். கிதியோனும் அவ்வாறே செய்தான்.

21 கர்த்தருடைய தூதன் இறைச்சியையும் அப்பத்தையும் தன் கையில் வைத்திருந்த கைத்தடியின் முனையால் தொட்டான். பாறையிலிருந்து நெருப்பு தோன்றி இறைச்சியையும், அப்பத்தையும் எரித்துவிட்டது! பின் கர்த்தருடைய தூதனும் மறைந்து போனான்.

22 அப்போது கிதியோன் தான் கர்த்தருடைய தூதனோடு பேசிக்கொண்டிருந்ததை உணர்ந்தான். எனவே கிதியோன், “சர்வ வல்லமையுள்ள கர்த்தாவே! நான் கர்த்தருடைய தூதனை நேருக்கு நேராகச் சந்தித்தேன்!” என்று சத்தமிட்டான்.

23 ஆனால் கர்த்தர் கிதியோனிடம், “அமைதியாயிரு! பயப்படாதே! நீ மரிக்கமாட்டாய்!” என்றார்.

24 ஆகையால் கிதியோன் அங்கு தேவனை ஆராதிப்பதற்கு ஒரு பலிபீடத்தைக் கட்டினான். கிதியோன் அப்பலிபீடத்திற்கு “கர்த்தரே சமாதானம்” என்று பெயரிட்டான். ஓப்ரா நகரில் அப்பலிபீடம் இன்றும் உள்ளது. அபியேசர் குடும்பம் வாழும் இடம் ஓப்ரா ஆகும்.

 

A Virgin Conceives

26-28 In the sixth month of Elizabeth’s pregnancy, God sent the angel Gabriel to the Galilean village of Nazareth to a virgin engaged to be married to a man descended from David. His name was Joseph, and the virgin’s name, Mary. Upon entering, Gabriel greeted her:

Good morning!

You’re beautiful with God’s beauty,

Beautiful inside and out!

God be with you.

29-33 She was thoroughly shaken, wondering what was behind a greeting like that. But the angel assured her, “Mary, you have nothing to fear. God has a surprise for you: You will become pregnant and give birth to a son and call his name Jesus.

He will be great,

    be called ‘Son of the Highest.’

The Lord God will give him

    the throne of his father David;

He will rule Jacob’s house forever—

    no end, ever, to his kingdom.”

34 Mary said to the angel, “But how? I’ve never slept with a man.”

35 The angel answered,

The Holy Spirit will come upon you,

    the power of the Highest hover over you;

Therefore, the child you bring to birth

    will be called Holy, Son of God. Lk 1:26-35

கன்னி மரியாள்

26-27 எலிசபெத் கருவுற்ற ஆறாம் மாதத்தில் தேவன் காபிரியேல் என்னும் தூதனை கலிலேயாவிலுள்ள நாசரேத் என்னும் பட்டணத்தில் வாழ்ந்த ஒரு கன்னிப் பெண்ணிடம் அனுப்பினார். தாவீதின் குடும்பத்தைச் சேர்ந்த யோசேப்பு என்ற மனிதனை மணம் புரிவதற்கு அவள் நிச்சயிக்கப்பட்டிருந்தாள். அவள் பெயர் மரியாள். 28 தூதன் அவளிடம் வந்து, “கர்த்தர் உன்னோடிருக்கிறார். அவர் உன்னை ஆசீர்வதிக்க விரும்புகிறார்” என்றான்.

29 தூதன் கூறியவற்றைக் கேட்டு மரியாள் மிகவும் குழப்பம் அடைந்தாள். “இதன் பொருள் என்ன?” என்று மரியாள் அதிசயித்தாள்.

30 தூதன் அவளிடம், “பயப்படாதே மரியாளே. தேவன், உன்னிடம் பிரியமாயிருக்கிறார். 31 கவனி! நீ கருவுறுவாய். ஓர் ஆண் குழந்தையைப் பெற்றெடுப்பாய். அக்குழந்தைக்கு இயேசு என்று பெயரிடுவாயாக. 32 அவர் பெரியவராக இருப்பார். மகா உன்னதமான தேவனுடைய குமாரன் என்று மக்கள் அவரை அழைப்பர். அவரது முன்னோராகிய தாவீதின் அதிகாரத்தை கர்த்தராகிய தேவன் அவருக்குக் கொடுப்பார். 33 சதாகாலமும் யாக்கோபின் மக்கள்மீது இயேசு அரசாளுவார். இயேசுவின் ஆட்சி ஒருபோதும் முடிவுறுவதில்லை” என்றான்.

34 மரியாள் தூதனை நோக்கி, “இது எப்படி நடக்கும்? எனக்குத் திருமணம் ஆகவில்லையே!” என்றாள்.

35 தூதன் மரியாளிடம், “பரிசுத்த ஆவியானவர் உன்னிடம் வருவார். உன்னதமான தேவனின் ஆற்றல் உன்னை மூடிக்கொள்ளும். குழந்தை பரிசுத்தமுள்ளதாக இருக்கும். அவர் தேவனுடைய குமாரன் என்று அழைக்கப்படுவார்.

 

 

32-34 So they got in the boat and went off to a remote place by themselves. Someone saw them going and the word got around. From the surrounding towns people went out on foot, running, and got there ahead of them. When Jesus arrived, he saw this huge crowd. At the sight of them, his heart broke—like sheep with no shepherd they were. He went right to work teaching them.

35-36 When his disciples thought this had gone on long enough—it was now quite late in the day—they interrupted: “We are a long way out in the country, and it’s very late. Pronounce a benediction and send these folks off so they can get some supper.”

37 Jesus said, “You do it. Fix supper for them.”

They replied, “Are you serious? You want us to go spend a fortune on food for their supper?”

38 But he was quite serious. “How many loaves of bread do you have? Take an inventory.”

That didn’t take long. “Five,” they said, “plus two fish.”

39-44 Jesus got them all to sit down in groups of fifty or a hundred—they looked like a patchwork quilt of wildflowers spread out on the green grass! He took the five loaves and two fish, lifted his face to heaven in prayer, blessed, broke, and gave the bread to the disciples, and the disciples in turn gave it to the people. He did the same with the fish. They all ate their fill. Mk 6:32-43

 

37 ஆனால் இயேசுவோ, “அவர்களுக்கு உண்ண நீங்கள் ஏதாவது கொடுங்கள்” என்றார்.

சீஷர்களோ இயேசுவிடம், “இவர்கள் அனைவரும் உண்ணுகிற அளவுக்கு நம்மால் அப்பத்தை வாங்கத் தேவையான பணத்துக்கு நாம் அனைவரும் ஒரு மாதக் காலத்துக்கு உழைத்துப் பணம் சம்பாதிக்க வேண்டும்” என்றனர்.

38 இயேசு, தன் சீஷர்களிடம், “உங்களிடம் எத்தனை அப்பங்கள் உள்ளன. போய்ப் பாருங்கள்” என்றார்.

சீஷர்கள் தங்களிடம் உள்ள அப்பங்களை எண்ணிப் பார்த்துவிட்டு இயேசுவிடம் வந்து, “நம்மிடம் ஐந்து அப்பங்களும் இரண்டு மீன்களும் உள்ளன”, என்றார்கள்.

39 பிறகு இயேசு சீஷர்களிடம், “புல்லின் மேல் மக்கள் சிறு சிறு குழுக்களாக உட்காரும்படி சொல்லுங்கள்” என்றார். 40 ஆகவே எல்லா மக்களும் குழுக்களாக அமர்ந்தனர். ஒவ்வொரு குழுவிலும் 50 அல்லது 100 பேர் இருந்தனர்.

41 இயேசு ஐந்து அப்பங்களையும் இரண்டு மீன்களையும் எடுத்துக் கொண்டார். அவர் வானத்தை ஏறிட்டுப் பார்த்தார். அந்த அப்பங்களுக்காக தேவனுக்கு நன்றி சொன்னார். பின்னர் இயேசு அப்பங்களை பங்கு வைத்துத் தன் சீஷர்களிடம் கொடுத்தார். அவற்றை மக்களுக்குக் கொடுக்குமாறு சொன்னார். மீனையும் அவ்வாறே பங்கிட்டு எடுத்துக் கொடுத்தார்.

42 எல்லா மக்களும் திருப்தியாக உண்டனர். மாற்கு 6:37-42

 

19 Early the next morning they arose and worshiped before the Lord and then went back to their home at Ramah. Elkanah made love to his wife Hannah, and the Lord remembered her. 20 So in the course of time Hannah became pregnant and gave birth to a son. She named him Samuel,[b] saying, “Because I asked the Lord for him.”

21 When her husband Elkanah went up with all his family to offer the annual sacrifice to the Lord and to fulfill his vow, 22 Hannah did not go. She said to her husband, “After the boy is weaned, I will take him and present him before the Lord, and he will live there always.”[c] 1 Samuel 1:19-21

 

1 சாமுவேல் 1:19-21 19 மறுநாள் அதிகாலையில் எல்க்கானாவின் குடும்பம் எழுந்து கர்த்தரைத் தொழுதுகொண்ட பிறகு ராமாவிலுள்ள தங்கள் வீட்டிற்கு திரும்பிப் போனார்கள்.

சாமுவேலின் பிறப்பு

எல்க்கானா தன் மனைவியான அன்னாளோடு பாலின உறவுகொண்டான், கர்த்தர் அன்னாளை நினைவுக்கூர்ந்தார். 20 அதே காலம் அதற்கடுத்த ஆண்டில் அவள் கர்ப்பமுற்று ஒரு மகனைப் பெற்றெடுத்தாள். அவள் தன் மகனுக்கு சாமுவேல் என்று பெயரிட்டாள். அவள், “இவன் பெயர் சாமுவேல் ஏனென்றால் நான் கர்த்தரிடம் இவனைக் கேட்டேன்” என்றாள்.

21 அந்த ஆண்டில் எல்க்கானா சீலோவிற்குப் பலிகளைக் கொடுப்பதற்காகவும் மற்றும் தேவனுக்குத் தந்த வாக்குறுதியை நிறைவேற்றும்படியும் சென்றான். அவன் தனது குடும்பத்தை தன்னோடு அழைத்துக் கொண்டு சென்றிருந்தான்.

 

 

13 Then Ananias answered, “Lord, I have heard from many about this man, how much [a]harm he has done to Your saints in Jerusalem. 14 And here he has authority from the chief priests to bind all who call on Your name.”

15 But the Lord said to him, “Go, for he is a chosen vessel of Mine to bear My name before Gentiles, kings, and the children[b] of Israel. 16 For I will show him how many things he must suffer for My name’s sake.” Acts 9:13-15

 

13 ஆனால் அனனியா பதிலாக, “ஆண்டவரே பல மக்கள் இம்மனிதனைக் குறித்து எனக்குக் கூறியிருக்கிறார்கள். எருசலேமிலுள்ள உமது தூய மக்களுக்கு இந்த மனிதன் செய்த தீமைகளை அவர்கள் எனக்குச் சொன்னார்கள். 14 இப்போது அவன் இங்கு தமஸ்குவுக்கு வந்துள்ளான். உம்மில் விசுவாசம் வைக்கிற எல்லோரையும் கைது செய்யும் அதிகாரத்தைத் தலைமைப் போதகர்கள் அவனுக்கு அளித்துள்ளனர்” என்றான்.

15 ஆனால் கர்த்தர் அனனியாவிடம், “போ! நான் சவுலை ஒரு முக்கிய வேலைக்காகத் தேர்ந்துள்ளேன். அவன் மன்னருக்கும், யூத மக்களுக்கும் பிற நாடுகளுக்கும் என்னைப்பற்றிச் சொல்லவேண்டும். 16 என் பெயருக்காக அவன் படவேண்டிய துன்பங்களை நான் சவுலுக்குக் காட்டுவேன்” என்றார். அப்போஸ்தலர் 9:13-15
