The Spirit pours out life
He alone makes us adequate ministers who are focused on an entirely new covenant. Our ministry is not based on the letter of the law but through the power of the Spirit. The letter of the law kills, but the Spirit pours out life.
The Spirit pours out life
He alone makes
—yes, our God is One. He alone is God. He makes us adequate ministers. It is not like any other academic educational skill.
With regards to being a minister of God, it’s not about what you do that matters, it’s about what God does for you, within us, and through you. He makes us equipped for the ministry He entrusts , us with.
Peter had a different ministry, Paul had another one. Old Testament prophets, leaders like Moses, Joshua, everyone had a different ministry. That’s why different anointing, a different skill, a different training, a different methodology…that enables God’s ministers.
who are focused
—focus is something very important. We get distracted very easily. We change sometimes, time and time again, our focus. That cannot be. We have to be very clear about the goal, and towards that only we should proceed. No turning back, Jesus said, “The one who has put his hand on the plough, cannot turn back. He cannot be my disciple.”
In another instance, when Jesus was walking on the water, Peter also wanted to walk unto Him, on the water. When he looked at the roaring of the sea and the wind, he got drowned. You have to keep your focus onto the task and to the God who has entrusted you with that task.
on an entirely new covenant
—a new promise, a new arrangement. You can translate it anyway you want. We are living in a New Covenant age…. Just like things change over time, be it technology or procedures for getting anything, be it an appointment for a visa, be it enrollment with an institution, the methodology or procedure has changed. In the same way, we are living in New Covenant age.
The old has passed and a new has come. We should be aware of this.
Our ministry is not based on the letter of the law—Laws are, in fact, crushing people. When you go to countries like the so-called ‘first-world,’ you will have a hell of trouble with following their rules and regulations. They have a thousand and one laws for anything. Literally, it crushes people.
…but through the power of the Spirit.
—our ministry is based on the Spirit who gives life. Yes, when Adam was fashioned into the image of God, God breathed into him His own Spirit.
The Spirit always gives Life, the Spirit itself is Life.
Jesus, when He was hanging on the cross, towards the end He said, “Into Your Hands I hand over my Spirit.” Yes, Spirit is the divine particle that is within us, that God has shared with us generously.
The letter of the law kills,
—True, violate any letter of the law, you have consequences, be it a traffic one or anything. Written law really kills. It has no mercy, no compassion, no adjustment, no consideration whatsoever. It is a law, you have violated; so, you have to be persecuted according to that.
Didn’t Pilate say, “It is written.”? What is written is written. That’s why I tell my people about a friend of mine, who gave me an advice: ‘Never write what you wold regret.’ You should be very careful about writing something.
but the Spirit pours out life.
—Yes, God’s Spirit pours life unto us. And if we have the same Spirit, we would be able to share life with others, and yet be full of life.
Abba, Thank You, Lord for sharing Your Spirit that pours life into us. Let Your Spirit give us adequate training that we may be focused on the New Covenant, and not after the letter of the law, but after the power of the spirit. In Jesus’ Most Powerful Name, Amen.
