God's Will at All Times

It is God's will that your good lives should silence those who foolishly condemn the gospel , without knowing what it can do for them, having never experienced its power. You are free from the law, but that doesn't mean you are free to do wrong. Live as those who are free to do only God's will at all times. 1 Peter 2:15-16

God's will at all times

It is God's will

--like I said yesterday, God has a Will, and that is a Perfect Will. With that Will, he designed you, arranged things for you, trained you, motivated you, mobilized things in  your favor, and everything that you have or that you are going to have, is about His Will.

that your good lives should silence those who foolishly condemn the gospel

--Jesus said, "I am the light of the world."  He also said, "You are the light of the world." Our lives should be one that of light. Light gives a lot of good things to human beings and that to the creatures, plants, reptiles, flies, birds. Same way, a Christian has to live a good life. There is also another passage in the bible that will say, "Seeing your good work, let people praise your father in Heaven."

It's quite interesting. I've never read any thing like this: "Your life should silence." Yes. Sometimes your forgiveness, kindness that might contradict to the world's standard, because the world retaliates, the world avenges, the world keeps the record of the wrongs of people, the world is highly prejudiced.

But you have to have a good life, according to biblical standard, and that should silence, that would and will silence those who foolishly condemn.

Of course, it is only foolish. We only have to pity those people who condemn the gospel. They know not. The Psalmist say, "Taste and see how good is the Lord." They haven't tasted that. We, who have tasted, should have mercy and pity on them. Because,

without knowing what it can do for them

--didn't Jesus say, while He was hanging on the cross, to those who hanged Him and nailed Him and gave Him the most excruciating painful death possible, shame:  "Father, they know not what they are doing."

Stephan, the deacon, when he was stoned to death, he also imitated the Messiah, and said, "not knowing, they are doing this." Of course, that is the truth. It's not about the knowledge of the worldly sort. It's about realization. They are so thoroughly blocked. Leave it aside.

having never experienced its power--that is true. We have the privilege of knowing the power of the Gospel, and that of salvation, that of the Name of God. Peter continues.

You are free from the law

--yes, no law can condemn us or limit us or block us, or set standards for us. We are free.

but that doesn't mean you are free to do wrong.

--There is a thing called right and wrong. By His Spirit, He will inspire us what is right and wrong. If you are filled by the Holy Spirit, definitely you will say what you are doing is right or wrong. So, we can never do what our conscience says wrong. We should only choose the right.

Live as those who are free to do only God's will at all times. 1 Peter 2:15-16

--Yes, God's chosen, God's anointed, God's beloved are free. That freedom only does only God's will, at all times.

In the garden of Gethsemane, it was impossible for Him to endure the pain that was awaiting. But Jesus said, "If it is possible, take this cup away from me; but not my will, let Thine be done." That should be the attitude that we should also have.

Abba, Thank you for this wonderful message. Let Your Spirit give us enough conviction that we may do only God's will that silences those who foolishly condemn the gospel. By our good acts, let us win their souls to Christ's favor. In Jesus' Most Powerful Name, Amen.
