As human beings we are so prone to commit mistakes or sins against God and the neighbours. The moment we realize that we have offended the other, we feel guilty and plead with the person to forgive us for our actions. Forgiving others not only relieves us of so much burden, but also makes us feel healed and comforted. There is another thing, the most important one, that we should take into account in practicing forgiveness, because it brings forgiveness that we need from Heaven, as Jesus interacts us: “If you forgive others the wrongs they have done to you, your Father in heaven will also forgive you” (Mt 6:14). May we understand the necessity of forgiveness from God and forgive others without any delay or condition. 

Abba, thank You so much for forgiving the multitude of sins we have committed. Let Your Spirit enable us to understand and accept others who have offended us, and give us a heart to spontaneously forgive, in Jesus’ Most Merciful Name, Amen.
